Les 21 et 22 mai, on a tous été réunis, entre weppiens, pour un magnifique week-end d'orientation (WEO) ! On a enfin tous pu se rencontrer en chair et en os, discuter et surtout bien rigoler !
On May 21st and 22nd, we, weppiens, have all been gathered together to spend an amazing orientation weekend (WEO) ! We've all been able to mette IRL, talk and, over all, have a good laugh !
Je suis arrivée assez tôt samedi au lycée où avait lieu de WEO, il n'y avait pas grand monde. Tout le monde est arrivé petit à petit puis, vers 14h, on est allé chacun dans nos groupes d'orientation (≈ 20 personnes/groupe) et on est rentré dans le vif du sujet.
On nous a (ré)expliqué les règles du programme, ce qu'il fallait préparer pour le départ, comment se déroulait les cours dans notre pays d'accueil, comment gérer notre argent de poche sur place et les situations de conflit, quel comportement adopter pour bien s'intégrer, les différences culturelles que l'on peut rencontrer puis pleins de détails pratiques (assurances, visa ...).
Le soir, on s'est tous retrouvé dans le gymnase pour un jeu par groupe (les mêmes que ceux de l'après-midi). C'était vraiment très sympa ! On a bien rigolé avec ma team "Louisiane" (ce n'est que le nom de mon groupe, ça n'est pas ma destination ^^).
Le lendemain matin, on s'est retrouvé avec nos groupes. On s'est écrit 2 lettres à nous-même que WEP nous enverra au début de notre échange et à mi-parcours. Une ancienne étudiante d'échange (qui nous a accompagné tout le week-end) nous a donné quelques conseils pour réussir notre année. Ensuite on a fait la photo de groupe (et plein d'autres photos) puis on a mangé et on a dû se dire au revoir ...
En tous cas, ce week-end aura été un moment magique, plein de bonne humeur. J'ai rencontré des gens formidables, j'ai fait quelques très belles rencontres et pour ça, je remercie mes parents, WEP et les autres étudiants d'échange de rendre cette aventure possible. Je les aime fort ❤️🙊
I've arrived quite early on Saturday to the high school where the WEO was happening, there weren't many people. Everybody arrived bit by bit and then, around 2 p.m., we joined our orientation groups (≈ 20 people/group) and we went to the very heart of the matter.
We've been told (again) the program rules, what we had to prepare for departure, how school was in our host country, how to handle our pocket money through the year, how to deal with conflict situations, how to behave to blend in well, the cultural differences that we may encounter and many practical details (insurance, visa ...).
In the evening, we gathered in the sport hall to do a game in groups (the same as the orientation groups we had in the afternoon). It was really sympathy ! We laughed a lot with my team "Louisiane" (it's only my group's name, not my destination's one ^^).
The next day, we spent the morning with our group again. We wrote ourselves letters that WEP will send us at the beginning of your exchange and at half of the program. An exchange student from last year (who had been with us the whole weekend) gave us some advices to have a successful year. Then we did the group pictures (and many other ones), we ate and we had to say goodbye …
All together, this weekend would have been a magical moment, full of cheerfulness. I met amazing people, I made some very beautiful meetings and for that, I thank my parents, WEP and the other exchange students to make this adventure possible. I love them very much. ❤️🙊
