Pour récapituler ma situation, j'ai passé mes deux premières semaines à Chico dans une famille d'accueil temporaire (Amy, Daniel et Gabriella), car lors de mon départ, mon organisme américain n'avait pas encore trouvé une famille qui pouvait m'accueillir le reste de l'année. Heureusement, dès le deuxième jour, j'ai appris qu'on m'avait trouvé une famille d'accueil définitive : la famille Weber !
To sum up my situation, I have spent the first two weeks in Chico in a welcome family (Amy, Daniel and Gabriella), because when I left France, my American organisme had not found a family yet to welcome me the rest of the year. Hopefully, on the second day here, they told me that they had found a permanent host family for me : the Weber family !
Entre deux familles
J'ai très vite rencontré Hannah, ma nouvelle sœur d'accueil. J'ai ensuite pu rencontrer ses parents pendant ma première semaine de cours. Je me suis tout de suite très bien entendu avec eux !
Cependant, j'ai eu le sentiment de me retrouver entre deux familles, et j'avais envie de me poser pour de bon dans ma famille. J'en ai discuté avec Amy, puis avec Mike et Suzanne (mes nouveaux parents d'accueil) et on s'est très vite accordé sur une date pour mon déménagement : le samedi 27 août 2016 !
Ma nouvelle famille d'accueil
Ma nouvelle famille d'accueil habite toujours à Chico mais dans la banlieue. Elle est composée d'Hannah (qui est en terminale à Inspire), Jordan (qui ne vit plus à la maison et qui y vient rarement), Suzanne (qui s'assure du respect des règlementations dans une entreprise) et Mike (qui est pompier).
Ils ont organisé un week-end sur la côte près de Fort Bragg car on a un weekend de 3 jours (pas de cours lundi car c'est le Labor Day) ! Je sens qu'on va passer un bon moment ! 🙊
In between two families
I met Hannah, my new host sister, very soon. Then, I met her parents during the first week of school. I got along with them very well right away !
However, I had the feeling that I was in between two families, and I wanted to settle down in my family once and for all. I talked about it with Amy, then with Mike and Suzanne (my new host parents) and we quickly agreed on a date for me to move in to their house : Saturday, August 27th 2016 !
My new host family
My new host host family still lives in Chico but in the suburbs. My family is composed by Hannah (who is a Senior at Inspire), Jordan (who is not living home anymore and rarely comes there), Suzanne (who is in charge of the compliance of the regulations in a company) and Mike (who is fire fighter).
They organized a weekend on the coast near Fort Bragg because we have a 3-day weekend (not school on Monday because it's Labor Day) ! I think we're gonna have a good time ! 🙊
