Pour le Labor Day week-end (week-end de 3 jours), ma famille d'accueil a organisé une sortie sur la côte, à Albion près de Fort Bragg. Ils avaient loué une petite maison au bord d'une falaise. La vue était à couper le souffle !
During the Labor Day weekend, my host family organized a trip to the coast, in Albion near Fort Bragg. They had rented a house on the edge of a cliff. The view was breath-taking !
Vendredi
Après les cours, on s'est dépêché pour partir le plus tôt possible. On avait 4h de route devant nous !
On est arrivé pile pour le coucher du soleil ! Le soir, j'ai pu faire quelques photos d'étoiles, on était vraiment au milieu de nulle part !
Samedi
Je me suis levée tôt le matin. J'ai passé près de 3h seule face à l'océan, en écrivant pour Meriggiare Magazine.
On a passé la journée à Fort Bragg. Le matin, on est allé à Glass Beach (où il n'y a plus beaucoup de verre). J'ai mis pied dans l'océan Pacifique pour la première fois de ma vie ! On s'est ensuite promené dans Fort Bragg. C'est une ville adorable ! En fin de journée, on a fait une promenade d'une heure dans le McKerricher State Park sur la côte, entre Fort Bragg et Albion. C'était vraiment magnifique !
Dimanche
On s'est levé tôt pour aller à Navarro Beach à la marée basse. C'était tellement reposant ! On a fait une longue marche dans les jardins botaniques de Mendocino qui s'étendent jusqu'à l'océan. C'est fou comme là-bas, tout est vert comparé à Chico ! On a ensuite encore beaucoup marché pour trouver un phare. On devait déjà avoir marché près de 8km sous le vent quand on est arrivé à Mendocino. C'est vraiment tout mignon comme ville, mais j'étais crevée ! On était tous crevé ! On est donc rentré assez tôt à Albion pour recharger les batteries.
Lundi
On a fait un bon petit déjeuner, puis on a pris le chemin du retour ... C'était vraiment un week-end génial même s'il était assez épuisant !
J'ai vraiment de la chance d'avoir les Weber comme famille d'accueil. 🙊
Friday
After school, we hurried up to leave as soon as possible. We had a 4-hour drive ahead of us !
We arrived right on time to see the sunset ! In the evening, I could make some picture of the stars, we were really in the middle of nowhere !
Saturday
I woke up early in the morning. I spent almost 3 hours alone facing the ocean, writing for Meriggiare Magazine.
We spent the day in Fort Bragg. In the morning, we went to Glass Beach (where there is not much glass left). I set foot in the Pacific Ocean for the first time of my life ! We went then walking downtown Fort Bragg. It's an adorable town ! By the end of the day, we walked for about an hour in the McKerricher State Park, between Fort Bragg and Albion. It was really beautiful !
Sunday
We woke up early to go to Navarro Beach at low tide. It was really relaxing ! We walked throught Mendocino's botanical gardens that extends to the ocean. It's incredible how green it is there compared to Chico ! Then we walked a lot to get to a light house. We had already walked for about 8 km in the wind when we got to Mendocino. It is a cute little town, but I was so tired ! We were all so tired ! So we went back to Albion pretty early to get some energy back.
Monday
We had a good breakfast, then we drove back home ... It has really been an amazing weekend although it has been exhausting !
I feel really lucky to have the Weber's as my host family. 🙊
