200 Jours / 200 Days

Déjà 2/3 de mon programme qui se sont écoulés... Et en toute honnêteté, une grande partie de moi ne veut pas rentrer.

Already 2/3rd of my program has gone by.... And to be honest, a big part of me doesn't want to go home.

Un moment historique

Ces dernières semaines (et même ces derniers mois), la Californie a connu des épisodes de fortes pluies comme il n'en était pas arrivé depuis des années. Il y a des orages quasiment toutes les semaines. Cela faisait 3 ans qu'il y avait une grande sécheresse, et aujourd'hui les sols n'absorbent même plus l'eau. Ceci a causé des inondations, des lacs pleins à craquer (voire qui débordent). C'était le cas de Lac Oroville, à 40km de chez moi (ils en ont même parlé au JT de TF1!). Des routes ont été lavées. Certaines sur la côte, ont fini dans l'eau. Ca fait un peu scénario catastrophe!

A historical moment

During the last weeks (and even the last months), California has known some big storms like it hadn't happened for years. There are storms almost every week. They had been in a drouth for 3 years, and today the grounds can't absorbe water anymore. This caused floodings, some lakes were full (some even were overflowing). That was the case fo Lake Oroville, 40km away from home (they talked even about it in Europe!). Some roads have been washed away. Some along the coast ended up in the ocean. It kind of looks like a disaster scenario!

J'ai été reçue finaliste du Photographer's Forum College & High School Photography Contest grâce à ma photo de Lake Almanor! Seulement 5% des photos inscrites (13.000 cette année) ont été sélectionnées. J'ai aussi eu l'occasion de faire plusieurs photoshoots avec des amis, faire des autoportraits et même créer un blog uniquement pour mes photos ! (romanemeisso.wixsite.com/home) J'aime beaucoup avoir le temps de me consacrer à la photographie.

On the photography side

I have been a finalist of the Photographer's Forum College & High School Photography Contest with my photograph of Lake Almanor! Only 5% of the submitted photos (13.000 this year) were selected. I also got the opportunity to do several photoshoots with my friends, take some self portraits and even create a blog only for my photos! (romanemeisso.wixsite.com/home) I really enjoy having time to do photography.

Pour l'année prochaine

Début janvier, j'avais envoyé mon dossier d'inscription à SAE Amsterdam pour leur cursus d'ingénierie du son. Une semaine plus tard, ils m'ont annoncé que j'étais reçue dans le programme! C'est donc officiel : Je pars étudier à Amsterdam l'année prochaine!

About next year

Beginning of January, I sent my application to SAE Amsterdam for their sound engineering course. A week later, they accepted my application for that course! It's now official : I am studying in Amsterdam next year!

Plus que 100 jours restants...

Et pas des moindres! Dans 2 semaines, je pars à Los Angeles avec ma famille d'accueil pour le Spring Break (on devait aussi aller à Carmel, Monterey et Big Sur mais les routes ont été ravagées par la pluie). Une semaine après, je pars à Hawaii avec mon organisme américain. Ensuite j'ai le concert de printemps et le spectacle de danse du lycée, puis le bal de promo, et enfin se sera juin et la Graduation. Les 3 mois qui me restent vont passer à une allure folle!

J'avais posté sur Facebook que c'était mon 200e jour ici, et j'ai eu la surprise de voir ca en arrivant dans ma classe de photographie :

Only 100 days left...

And not the least! Two weeks from now, I'll be going to Los Angeles with my host family for Spring Break (we were also supposed to go to Carmel, Montery and Big Sur but the roads have been devastated by the rain). A week later, I'll go to Hawaii with my American organisation. Then I have the school's spring concert and showcase, then prom, and finally it will be June and graduation. The 3 months that I have left are going to go by incredibely fast!

I posted on Facebook that it was my 200th day here, and I was surprised to see that when I arrived in my photography class :

J'adore les gens de mon lycée!

I love people from my high school!
